Research and Application of Low-Cost Early Sand Stabilization Completion Technology for Loose Sandstone

In response to the problem of short effective period of sand control caused by the migration of sandstone and fine sandstone in loose sandstone reservoirs with medium and high shale content, low-cost early sand stabilization completion technology research has been carried out for loose sandstone. Sand stabilization technology is adopted when the formation framework is relatively intact in the early stage to reduce the frequency of sand production in the later stage of oil and well production. Based on the application of polymer branched cationic polymer to form a new network molecular polymer, the formulation of low-cost early sand stabilizer system with coupling agent and stabilizer was established. So that it has stability, anti-swelling, sand stability and other characteristics, to weaken, inhibit and obstruct the migration of sand particles. The sand migration degree of the sand driven out of the formation after sand stabilizer treatment is 6.8% of that before treatment. Supporting corresponding construction techniques to form low-cost early sand stabilization completion technology. By December 2022, 11 Wells had been used in the field, and the success rate of sand control had reached 100%, with a cumulative oil increase of 5,685.3 tons.
