Research on Quantitative Method and Main Control Factors of Drilling Crew Operation Effect

The assessment of drilling crew is crucial for evaluating the operational effectiveness, improving management levels, and improving drilling operation quality and efficiency. Currently, most drilling crew operation evaluation only consider drilling speed and wellbore quality, which cannot fully reflect the overall operational effectiveness of the drilling crew and is not conducive to oilfield enterprises evaluating the operational effectiveness of the drilling crew. Based on sorting statistics and programming calculations methods, and considering the actual drilling site, a multi-level evaluation method for drilling crews was established to quantify the effectiveness of drilling crew operations and provide an evaluation method for multi drilling crew operation projects, considering key indicators such as drilling workload, drilling efficiency, drilling timeliness, wellbore quality control, and diesel consumption, which reflects workload, quality, efficiency, and economy respectively. A method for evaluating the main control factors of drilling operation performance was established based on the grey correlation analysis method, using the drilling crew score as the evaluation indicator for drilling crew operation performance. Taking XX Oilfield as an example, the performance of 8 drilling crews in XX Oilfield in 2020 was quantitatively scored. The analysis results showed that the order of evaluation for XX Oilfield in 2020 was: crew 2 > crew 4 > crew 3 > crew 5 > crew 1 > crew 6 > crew 7 > crew 8. Well quality is the main controlling factor affecting the performance of the drilling crew, and the evaluation results are in line with the actual situation of XX Oilfield. The multi-level drilling crew evaluation method established in this article provides assessment methods for multi-drilling crew operation projects and provides a theoretical basis for the formulation of operation management measures for project companies.
