Visions of Edge Computing in 6G
摘要
This chapter provides an overall outlook on the future of 6G edge computing. The vigorous development of small satellites in low earth orbit (LEO) provides an opportunity for 6G edge computing. Based on LEO small satellites, we analyze the potential and challenges of orbital edge computing. The challenges of satellite edge computing come from the inherent characteristics of satellites, such as mobility, limited resources, and complex environments. The key is that we demonstrate our efforts to explore 6G edge computing, including designing a 6G core network architecture for orbital/satellite edge computing, realizing the deployment of the core network on satellites, and our proposed Tiansuan constellation.
