Edge Computing for 5G and 5G-based Mobile Edge Computing System
摘要
The rapid development of 5G communication and mobile edge computing has accelerated the deployment of computing resources at the network edge. To meet the low-latency requirements of applications, the computing resources in mobile edge computing need to be located as close as possible to user terminals, resulting in a geographically distributed and decentralized deployment. However, the limited resources of individual edge clouds make it difficult to independently handle all service demands. To better satisfy the requirements of applications, 5G network functions and edge clouds should be coordinated. This section first presents the advancements of mobile edge computing (MEC) for 5G and the architecture of 5G-based mobile edge computing. Then, the technology that enables seamless service migration and the issue of high-profit edge server placement in 5G-based mobile edge computing are introduced.
