摘要

The theme of Roundtable III is Global Financial Turbulence and China’s Economic Outlook. In this part, we have invited Haizhou Huang, Managing Director and Chairman of Capital Market Committee at China International Capital Corporation; Xunlei Li, Chief Economist at Zhongtai Securities; Haibin Zhu, Chief China Economist at J.P. Morgan; Ting Lu, Chief China Economist at Nomura; Bin Zhang, Senior Fellow, Deputy Director of Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, to discuss about the economic phenomena and development issues in their respective fields. Firstly, Haizhou Huang gave an introduction to the background of the international financial market. He has stressed that developed countries had outperformed emerging markets in terms of this year’s performance, with Europe being relatively brilliant. Secondly, Xunlei Li recognized that the current pressure on local government debt in China is still relatively large, then he offered five suggestions. Thirdly, Haibin Zhu talked about his judgment on China’s macro economy and then focused on the issues of Chinese real estate market. Fourthly, Ting Lu compared the current situation with the past few economic recovery periods in our country to deepen our understanding of the current economic situation. Fifthly, Bin Zhang shared his advice about how to use price measures to expand demand. Then, the economists of this theme held a discussion with two important questions: (1) what is the biggest risk for the world or China in the coming quarters? and (2) what is the most urgent need for China to do? especially the policy suggestions.
