摘要

Vaccines produced in plants were an alternative approach to immunization agent production. This technology allows the generation of specific pathogen antigenic proteins, triggering an immune response when administered as vaccines. Plant-produced vaccines have been used for various veterinary diseases, including viral and bacterial infections affecting livestock, poultry, fish, and other animals. This method offers significant advantages, as plants can be cultivated on a large scale, enabling the rapid and efficient production of vaccines in required quantities. Additionally, plant expression platforms have become a significant opportunity for complex protein production since they can facilitate posttranslational modifications and can be easily genetically manipulated. While still in the research and development phase, plant-based vaccine production for veterinary diseases offers a promising alternative to conventional methods. It has the potential to contribute to the prevention and control of animal diseases, improving livestock health and food safety while reducing costs and dependence on traditional production methods. This is a growing area of interest in veterinary medicine with the potential to significantly enhance disease prevention and control in animals.
