Characterization of Graphitic Compound Produced from Oil Palm Trunk Waste via Explosive

Synthesis of graphite compound was achieved by utilizing oil palm trunk waste through the explosion method. The quantity of explosion materials employed varied between 50 and 100 g, while the amount of oil palm trunk remained constant at 50 g. Following the explosion process, each sample underwent characterization using X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The resulting diffraction patterns were then analyzed utilizing the X'pert Highscore Plus software to confirm the synthetic graphite's alignment with the XRD reference code 00-041-1487. Raman analysis further supported these findings, as the presence of D, G, and 2D peaks at respective wave numbers of 1200–1500, 1500–1800, and 2700 cm−1 indicated the formation of synthetic graphite. Therefore, the investigation conclusively verifies the successful synthesis of synthetic graphite by employing the explosion method.
