Inclusive Education: Xihou Primary School’s Efforts of Achieving “Not One Less” in Shanxi

Once inside the school gate of Xihou Primary School in Pinglu County, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, an illustrated and well-designed blackboard newspaper (see Fig. 11.2) attracted the attention of the researchers of the twenty-first century Education Research Institute. Nowadays, with highly developed information equipment, it is rare to see such a beautiful and thoughtful blackboard newspaper. Different from the huge LED screen that is often seen elsewhere, with flaming red characters rolling to “Welcome to the school for guidance and communication”, the handcrafted blackboard newspaper of Xihou Primary School (hereinafter referred to as Xihou), with beautiful fonts, elaborate design as well as a simple and warm welcome, made researchers warm in their hearts (Figs. 11.1 and 11.2).
