Performance of a Modified Impedance Source Inverter in Solar Power System
摘要
In this work, a solar photovoltaic system connected Z (impedance)-source inverter is taken into consideration. Z-source inverters use shoot-through (ST) state to regulate the voltage output unlike a conventional voltage source inverters. The ST state by changing the conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) approaches helps in buck/boost the voltage in a single stage. Out of many controlling algorithms, simple boost control method is used in this paper for power conversion. Further, a modified Z-source inverter (ZSI) is discussed which has an inherent capability of restricting the capacitor inrush current and can significantly lower the voltage stress on the Z-source capacitor compared to conventional ZSI topologies. In this paper, a case study is performed for analysis of the above in MATLAB/Simulink and validated.
