Examining the Impact of Foreign Aid on Electrical Infrastructure Development in South Asian Countries: Comprehending the Correlation Between Foreign Aid and Corruption

South Asian countries are significantly impacted by corruption, and previous literature has indicated that foreign aid exacerbates the problem. This research study aims to investigate the relationship between foreign aid and corruption in South Asian countries, and to determine if this relationship holds true in this region. The study analyzed data from 1996 to 2020 for five countries, namely India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, and Afghanistan. The results of the analysis differ from previous studies and suggest that foreign aid is no longer a significant cause of corruption in this part of the world. The findings also indicate that corruption can be reduced through increased investment in education and the establishment of strict rule of law.
