摘要

A rotational symmetric spider net-shaped multiband-band epsilon-negative (ENG) metamaterial is proposed in this book chapter. This is an assembly of three modified interlinked octagonal split rings with a central octagonal close ring (OCRR) resonator which are surrounded by a square ring (SSR). 0.1608λ mm2 × 0.1608λ mm2 is the electrical dimension of the suggested metamaterial unit cell; the smallest resonance frequency 4.02 GHz is used to estimate the concerned wavelength (λ). A dielectric material RT 6002 of customary thickness 1.524 mm is castoff as substrate. In numerical simulation, it yields five resonance peaks at 4.02, 5.68, 6.72, 8.48 and 11.66 GHz with magnitudes − 50.50 dB − 21.27 dB, − 39.86 dB, − 36.17 dB and − 32.31 dB, respectively. Besides, the negative value of permittivity (ϵ) is observed at the frequency ranges 4.02–4.61 GHz, 6.72–7.03 GHz and 8.48–8.72 GHz. In addition, negative refractive index (NRI) shows at the frequency ranges 4.03–5.21 GHz, 5.69–5.76 GHz, 6.73–7.53 GHz and 8.49–9.62 GHz negative. The presented multi-band metamaterial is designed for C- and X-bands applications for the wireless electromagnetic communication system.
