Metamaterial-Based L/S/C Band Antenna for Satellite Communication
摘要
This paper presents an Metamaterial (MTM)-based antenna designed for satellite communication. The proposed dual-band antenna exhibits two resonance bandwidths, covering the frequency ranges of 1.7–1.86 and 3.47–5 GHz. Notably, the antenna demonstrates three lowest signal transmission losses occurring at 1.8 GHz, 4 GHz, and 4.6 GHz, with corresponding values of − 29.15 dB, − 29 dB, and − 68 dB, respectively. The compact size of the MTM-based antenna is only 30 mm × 30 mm × 1.6 mm. Additionally, the antenna exhibits directive radiation properties and remarkably low Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), averaging at 1.1. The combination of these unique electromagnetic properties offered by the metamaterial-based antenna, alongside the demand for efficient dual-band operation, compact form factor, and desirable radiation characteristics, presents new possibilities for achieving reliable and high-performance communication in satellite applications.
