摘要

Powering an off-grid area with a solar energy conversion system required a multi-mode control strategy capable of immediately balancing the PV power generated with a battery and the load, taking into account changes in irradiation, variations of load demand, as well as ensuring a safe battery charging procedure. To this end, three operating modes are included in the controller: Constant Voltage (CV) Constant Current (CC), and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). The DC/DC converter used in this application is the ZETA converter, this type of converter topology include the ability to perform both buck and boost, ripple current reduction, less stress on power components. The performances of the controllers are theoretically examined then checked under MATLAB/SIMULINK environment.
