Energy Harvesting Communication System Optimization Based on Battery Leakage and Rate Capacity
摘要
Nowadays IoT applications are very attractive. In the case of wireless communication system where transmitters are equipped with battery, lifetime is a big concern. In many applications, the main concern is to make a tradeoff between the amount of data to be sent and the service duration of the transmitting equipments. Harvesting capability can increase performance in such applications. In this paper, the extend of the IoT equipment’s lifetime in the context of energy harvesting while optimizing throughput is proposed. We propose to determine whether a transmitter sends a data packet to its receiver based on channel conditions, the harvested energy, the data gathered and the battery state. A reinforcement algorithm is used to decide on transmitting or not. Numerical results prove that the proposition performs better than a naive approach where transmitter decides to transmit if it has collected data whatever the battery or the channel conditions.
