DC/DC Boost Converter-Based Emulation of a Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzer
摘要
The Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzer (PEM Electrolyzer) has recently gained attention as a potential source of alternative energy. Researchers and scientists are exploring the use of PEM Electrolyzer technology for various purposes, such as hydrogen production and transportation systems. However, PEM Electrolyzer systems can be costly and require complex auxiliary components. To address this challenge, the utilization of PEM Electrolyzer emulators as a cost-effective and viable alternative to actual PEM Electrolyzer systems in the development and testing of power conditioning systems and control laws related to the PEM Electrolyzer in laboratory settings. This study aims to propose a PEM Electrolyzer emulator-based DC/DC boost converter that can accurately reproduce the nonlinear polarization characteristics of PEM Electrolyzer. The proposed emulator has undergone rigorous experimental validation to evaluate its performance and effectiveness in replicating the PEM Electrolyzer polarization curve.
