摘要

Harmonic distortion is a major issue in electric power grids that causes equipment damage and affects power quality. To mitigate this problem, parallel active filters (PAFs) have been proposed as a viable solution. However, the control of PAFs can be challenging due to the nonlinear behavior of power systems and the varying harmonic spectra. In this research paper, we propose a model-predictive control (MPC) strategy for PAFs to reduce harmonics in the electric power grid. The proposed approach uses a prediction model to estimate the future behavior of the power system and calculate optimal control actions for the PAF. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed MPC based PAF approach effectively reduces harmonic distortion in the power grid compared to traditional PAF control methods. The proposed method is also robust to variations in the harmonic spectrum and system parameters, making it a promising solution for harmonic mitigation in power systems.
