Metrics and Assessment of ESS-Empowered Cyber Resilience

摘要

Existing cyber resilience assessment evaluates the cyber resilience capability of a system from the perspective of technical methods, and there are problems such as the lack of representative core indicators, the lack of comparability of evaluation results, and the difficulty in assessing emergent system capabilities. The DHR architecture of ESS acquires emergent ESS capability through system construction. In a sense, this is a vivid manifestation of the natural law that “structure determines nature” in the field of cyberspace security and safety. The above facts inspire us to focus on and evaluate system architecture capabilities in the cyber resilience assessment process, rather than limiting ourselves to evaluating various fragmented technical approaches. Inspired by the DHR architecture, this chapter proposes a system architecture-based cyber resilience assessment perspective, in which assessing the core system architecture capabilities is the key to cyber resilience assessment.
