Study on the Impact Energy of Aluminum 6061 and Aluminum 7075 at Different Heat Treated Condition
摘要
Charpy impactImpact test is used to evaluate the toughness and impactImpact resistance of a material under sudden impactImpact loading. This study utilized the data acquisition system and strain gauge together with the Charpy machine in order to collect the impactImpact strain signal. Aluminum 6061 and 7075 are commonly used materials in various applications due to their excellent mechanical property. The study shows that the same grade of material with different heat treated condition resulting different energyEnergy absorption capacity. Clearly, different grade of materials exhibits different impactImpact energyEnergy, observing that the aluminum 6061 has higher impactImpact energyEnergy value and larger area under the curve than the aluminum 7075. Overall, in terms of heat treated condition, both aluminum grades experience greater value of impactImpact energyEnergy and area under the curve for T6 material condition compared to the T0 material condition. The findings observed that, the heat treatment condition is one of the several factors affecting the impactImpact properties of the aluminum alloy.
