摘要

An adsorptionAdsorption refrigerationRefrigeration system is an alternative solution for refrigerationRefrigeration technology to overcome energyEnergy and environmental damage issues. However, the adsorptionAdsorption refrigerationRefrigeration system performs less than the existing refrigerationRefrigeration technology, which is mainly driven by the vapor compression cycle. As an attempt to cover the drawback, the performance can be improved by modifying the adsorber bed heat exchanger. This study used a simulation method to analyze the performance of the adsorptionAdsorption refrigerationRefrigeration system, particularly on the adsorber bed. The adsorber bed was a finned tube heat exchanger. The variation of fin spacing was evaluated to investigate the adsorptionAdsorption uptake for the adsorptionAdsorption process. The fin spacing was 0.765; 2.265; 2.765; 3.265; and 4.265 mm. The results of the simulation show the temperature distribution and adsorptionAdsorption uptake performance. The analysis results show that the fin spacing of 0.765 mm has the highest adsorptionAdsorption uptake value of 1.099 kg/kg and the highest temperature of 322.2 K. The lowest value was obtained with a fin spacing of 4.265 mm. It was 1.092 kg/kg for adsorptionAdsorption uptake and 326.1 K for the temperature. It implies that the fin spacing design contributes significantly to temperature changes. Meanwhile, the pressurePressure and cooling rate strongly influences the adsorptionAdsorption performance in adsorptionAdsorption uptake.
