摘要

AA6061-sea sand composites with different reinforcementReinforcement mass fractions were prepared using the stir casting process. The difference in the mass fraction of the reinforcementReinforcement is 2%wt, 4%wt and 6%wt. The highest hardnessHardness is the addition of 4% wt sea sand of 62.03 BHN. In addition, the more mass fraction of sea sand, the higher the porosityPorosity and lower density. This is because sea sand has a lower density compared to AA6061. Increasing hardnessHardness and decreasing porosityPorosity is done by cold working process. One of the cold working treatments is cold forging. Billets are manufactured with a height of 35 mm and a diameter of 30 mm. Specimens that have been manufactured are then forged at room temperature using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). This stage aims to determine the effect of cold forging on changes in the hardnessHardness of the AA6061-sea sand composite. As a result, the hardnessHardness and density of the after forged composite increases. Besides that, the porosityPorosity decreases, it happens caused by the grain size of the particles is finer. The highest hardnessHardness is the addition of 4% wt sea sand which is 88.83 BHN.
