The Using Hollow Circular Fin Absorber on the Performance of Single Slope Solar Still
摘要
The heat loss of the Conventional Single Slope SolarSolar Still (CS4) distiller is the primary issue that needs to be immediately resolved through research. A way to minimize heat loss as well as improve the performance of CS4 is the absorberAbsorber fin addition inside the chamber to store heat from solarSolar energyEnergy. This study has been conducted to reduce heat loss by adding variable hollow circular fins into the chamber during testing. The presented study was conducted experimentally using three CS4 chambers with different numbers of fin conditions starting from 07.00 to 18.00 WIB (GMT + 7). The outcomes proved that the performance of producing distilled water had been affected by the number of fins inside the chamber. The study also indicated that fins absorb some of the energyEnergy from sunlight radiationsRadiation, causing the water temperature in each test chamber to differ simultaneously. Maximum productivity results were obtained by CS4 with the most fin additions with an accumulated production of 1230 mL.
