Detection of Internal Crack Characteristics Using Microphones

摘要

Manual brakeBrake pad damage detection in industrial Quality Control needs to be updated using software and hardware to avoid the influence of objectivity when done manually by humans. This study discusses the detection of damage to the brakeBrake pad. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of internal cracks on the brakeBrake pad using a microphoneMicrophones. This study uses Matlab and Audacity in the process of recording and processing signals using 10 brakeBrake pads samples, namely 5 damaged brakeBrake pads and 5 undamaged brakeBrake pads. The results of this study showed that the highest average deviation of damaged brakeBrake pads was 0.1939 and the lowest was 0.0564 and the highest average deviation of undamaged brakeBrake pads was 0.0248 and the lowest was 0.0205. This proves that brakeBrake pads with internal cracks have a higher average coherence deviation than brakeBrake pads without cracks in them.
