Analysis of Half-Space Acoustic Radiation in 3D Based on Fast Multipole Boundary Element Method

Disadvantages of conventional boundary element method (CBEM) in analysing large-scale acoustic radiation problems in 3D half space are particularly obvious. For this reason, the half-space Green’s function is constructed, and the fast multipole method (FMM) and iterative solver is introduced to accelerate the calculation of those problems. In the actual execution process, octree structure and the block diagonal preconditioner is adopted for the calculation procedure. Numerical examples with up to 91614 DOF are solved successfully on a laptop using the developed code. These results clearly demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the fast multipole boundary element method (FMBEM) for solving 3D half-space acoustic radiation problems.
