Overview of Reversible Data Hiding for JPEG Images

Reversible data hiding for JPEG images have been widely investigated and a large number of related works have been proposed. In this paper, the existing RDH methods for JPEG images are categorized into three types: quantization table modification, Huffman table modification and modification of quantized DCT coefficients. Type III methods are further summarized three classes: single histogram modification, two-dimensional histogram, and two-dimensional histogram (2DH) plus multiple histogram modification (MHM). In addition, we also give a simple introduction for several methods belonging to Type III.
