IoT Communication Models and Modes of Connectivity
摘要
The IoT is a rapidly growing field that enables communication with various devices and objects. It allows for the exchange of information within physical objects and virtual applications, regardless of location or time. The fundamental idea behind IoT is to establish autonomous connections between real objects and applications, enabling the transfer of information and enabling intelligent decision-making. IoT enables the connection of physical activities to virtual ones, leading to the development of numerous services and applications that can benefit individuals, professionals, and businesses. Many gadgets and devices, such as smartphones, laptops, and wearable devices, are now equipped with sensors that gather data and transmit it to the internet. This interconnected network of devices with embedded sensors opens up new possibilities for innovative services and applications. This chapter presents various standard ways in which sensor data can be communicated which are hereby referred to as “communications models” and various means that are used to establish connections between different entities of IoT which are hereby referred to as “modes of communication”. The technologies pertaining to these are also presented.
