Security Challenges to IOT and Cloud-Based Systems in the Era of Quantum Attacks
摘要
All cryptographic algorithms and security measures are prone to different kinds of novel Cyberattacks in the era of quantum mechanics. This is a great threat to the survival of complex technological systems. Cryptographic codes of networked vehicles and complex systems will be decrypted using quantum computers. The evolution of quantum computers and algorithms is a boon for attackers to breach the security of modern internet and IoT-based connected Vehicles and complex systems. Computation using Qubits, which have a large amount of processing capability that can swiftly decrypt the current encryption algorithms is the direction that technology is gradually headed in. technology is gradually advancing in Therefore, protecting our systems from security issues is urgently needed. IoT will also be one of the disciplines, which need to be secured to prevent any malicious activity. IoT device security requirements “can be very complex”. More complex and sophisticated Security algorithms need to be developed. Hence, the security provider must, for instance, take into account security measures for supply chain security, protected patch management, defense against cyberattacks, authentication and validation process, and secure transaction. This chapter discusses the threats to internetworked devices and their mitigation in the era of quantum computers.
