Methods in Toxicologic Pathology

Toxicity of compounds is the major cause of drug attrition during pharmaceutical discovery and development. Knowledge of the principles of pathologic methodologies can result in efficient and effective assessment of the potential toxicity of compounds. Clinical pathologic evaluation of blood and body fluids and histopathological evaluation of tissue samples aid in deciding the target organs and ultimately the dose at which there are no adverse effects in toxicology studies.
