Solving Economic Dispatch Problem with and Without Solar Energy Using Chameleon Swarm Algorithm
摘要
Optimal power flow is one of the main functions of the power generation and control operation. The contribution of this article is the application of a new metaheuristic to solve the economic dispatch problem with and without the integration of solar energy. The main objective is to minimize the production cost while accounting for transmission losses. A recent metaheuristic algorithm based on the behavior of Chameleon swarm is applied on two different network tests of 3 and 10 generators testing; with and without the injection of solar energy to a several power demands, in accordance with equality and inequality constraints, considering the variability of active transmission losses. The results of optimal costs are compared with other techniques to validate the high performance of the new method for solving the economic dispatch problem. This study demonstrates that CSA provides the most optimal results than the other metaheuristics and surpasses them.
