Studying of Unbalanced Supply Voltage Effects on Three-Phase Induction Motor Performances Based on Line Neutral Voltage Analytical Calculation

This article presents a study of performances of three-phase induction motor under unbalanced supply voltage conditions. Through a proposed analytical development of line neutral voltage, the various negative impacts caused by voltage unbalance such as on the line currents, or on the torque of the machine are determinate. In this paper, it is also proposed to dissociate the effects due to voltage unbalance from those the stator or rotor faults. The originality of the article is the proposal of an index which makes it possible to define and effectively evaluate the percentage of unbalance. Simulation and experimentation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
