A New Approach of Sensorless Control of Induction Motor Using Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Observer

An estimation of the rotor speeds and time constant based on the MRAS observer is proposed in this study. A type 2 fuzzy controller is used instead of the adaptation mechanism. Our approach is to replace the PI controller of the adaptation mechanism with a type 2 fuzzy controller of the observer for the entire operating range of the asynchronous motor. The main interest of this approach is to be able to take into account the uncertainty on the rules of the estimated models, which improves the performance of the estimator and increases its robustness against the variation of the parameters. The effectiveness of this method has been demonstrated in simulation.
