Data Sharing Using Verifiable Credentials in the Agriculture Sector

The agricultural sector faces new challenges. Consumers now expect that food they eat is good for them and good for the environment. Fear of climate change is driving more regulation and data compliance requirements. There are new global standards of data verification requiring agriculture to confirm to these standards for international export. This paper describes the technical implementation details of a Decentralized Agricultural Ecosystem aiming to share data in a secure way; an approach that will allow farmers and growers to capture, manage and share their data while also controlling and protecting it.
