Navigating the Terrain of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations: An In-Depth Review of Blockchain Governance Initiatives
摘要
Blockchain is now regarded as a revolutionary technology that was discovered in its infancy with the capability of supporting decentralized digital currency like Bitcoin. Besides the financial context, the application of blockchain went further with the creation of decentralized governance in terms of ‘Decentralised Autonomous Organisations’ (DAO). DAOs are the shift in the model of collective management as contract-based decision-making made by the community using blockchain technology. In simple terms, this article gives an overview of what a DAO is, with an emphasis on the possibility of it reshaping the way several organizations work since it does not rely on central control. The article discusses popular tools like Aragon, DAOstack, DAOhaus, and Colony, which enable the creation and management of DAOs for those without blockchain expertise. In addition, the article also presents an evaluation and analysis of DAO-specific visualization tools such as the open-source DAOAnalyzer using DAO Genesis Alpha in the DAOstack environment.
