Mitigating Burst Errors in Multipath Wireless Networks: A Network Coding Approach

The growing demand for high-bandwidth applications in wireless networks necessitates advanced error correction strategies to counteract burst errors that significantly degrade communication quality. The work introduces a network coding mechanism designed to mitigate packet loss in multipath transmission scenarios. Through extensive simulations using NS3, the performance of the proposed scheme is evaluated and compared with previously established work. Results showed robustness and network reliability across the multipath transmission. The study considers key performance metrics such as throughput, packet loss rate, and decoding failure ratio.
