High concentration of presence of weeds into crops is resulting in production mixed with impurities and lesser in yield. Chemicals (Pesticides and Herbicides) are used mainly to get rid of weeds and that is entailing to ecological imbalances. Smart solution for controlling the menace of weeds is the demand of the day. An approach to develop user friendly smart system for controlling weeds is conceived comprising various activities including auto capturing of data regarding environmental condition of soil using IoT sensors, AI based identification of weeds and capturing their growth pattern by using aerial surveys, capturing of soil health based upon available information on soil health cards with farmers and various weed control mechanisms exercised by farmers in their respective fields through crowd sourcing and developing AI based model establishing relationship of weeds’ growth with other factors. Factors affecting weeds growth are soil health parameters, seasons and environmental conditions of soil. One of the main objectives is to establish and validate impact patterns of using control mechanisms like use of chemicals on weeds at its different levels of growths viz a viz different conditions of soil comprising health factors, environmental factors and seasons etc. This would facilitate in reaching to impactful and effective weeds control mechanism with least use of chemicals.
