Non-linear Interactions Between Stability Modes in a Compressible Subsonic Open Cavity
摘要
We study the global stability of the open cavity flow. We simulate and compute the linear stability of cases that contain both Rossiter and centrifugal modes and check whether the simulation and the linear instability results match, both in terms of the dominant modes and also regarding their frequencies. The main finding of this work is that the presence of centrifugal modes makes the mixing layer thinner, favouring higher-order Rossiter modes.
