Frontiers of Modern Urban Design Theory
摘要
The forefront of modern urban design is closely linked to the current trends in urban development. Cities and social spaces have been undergoing a significant structural transformation since the 1960s and 1970s. With this structural transformation, the world is experiencing the fastest and most extensive urbanization process in history. By 2008, it was the first time in history that more than half of the world's population resided in urban areas. By 2030, the urban population is projected to reach 5 billion, accounting for 60% of the global population. From a global perspective, future population growth will be concentrated in cities, and almost exclusively in developing countries, particularly China and India.
