Enhancing Fast Charging of Lithium-Ion Batteries in Electric Vehicles: A Comparative Analysis of Cathode and Electrolyte Materials
摘要
The evolution of electric vehicles is essential to resolve the fossil fuels environmental and social effects. Thus, it provides a perfect solution for establishing clean energy for increasing demands to contest greenhouse gases and global warming. There are barriers like few charging stations, slow charging, and prohibitively expensive batteries which minimizes the growth of electric vehicles. This article aims to review different approaches for fast charging and the composite materials applied in lithium-ion batteries. In particular, the concentration is made on the influence of the materials used in batteries including cathodes and electrolytes on the fast-charging ability. Consequently, out of the three charging methods discussed, Constant Current, Constant Voltage, and Constant Current-Constant Voltage, only the Constant Current Constant Voltage method was conducted in a real-time scenario due to their fast-charging approach. The experiment was done using eight lithium-ion cells with cathode materials and analyzed through the isolator. Through the charging and discharging modes of this charging technique, it is promising that Constant Current Constant Voltage has fast charging capability.
