This review focuses on the ongoing challenges in digital image watermarking, particularly the balance between watermark security and image quality. The paper looks closely at both the standard and hybrid methods of adding watermarks, where they combine diverse methods from different domains (spatial and frequency), to achieve a more effective and resilient watermarking solution. Some specific evaluation metrics have been used such as the “Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio” and the “Structural Similarity Index” both can hep to assess robustness and imperceptibility of the techniques. Our significant findings highlight that the hybrid methods have the ability to outperform many of the traditional techniques under a variety of attacks. As per our study the future directions seem to include the potential of AI and blockchain technologies to address the evolving challenges in multimedia security sector. Thus, by bringing together a variety of approaches and the suggestions, this review aims to be a useful resource for researchers working in this particular field of study.

摘要
