In today’s world passwords are majorly used as the break point to access any application due to their recognizable ease of use. Using passwords as authentication gives freedom to end users to sync on multiple devices simultaneously. But with growing technology consequent issues are rising as password hacks, leakages, and password theft. As per the theory of Picture Superiority Effect (PSE), people remember images more effectively than text due to the brain’s ability to comprehend and retain visual information, so to avoid remembrance of strong and long passwords users generally use weak short strings of characters, or there personal information as there passwords which give the chance to hackers, to breach into your system easily. So we have come up with the solution of developing a two-level password authentication system that increases the confidentiality and reliability of passwords. This paper aims at a system where each end user is authenticated twice. LEVEL-1 for this is alphanumeric password-based authentication and LEVEL-2 is an image-based graphical password system. Finally, this paper presents an innovative web-based practically implemented authentication system utilizing graphical passwords to enhance security and user experience.
