Archeological resources from the Industrial Revolution have been frequently overlooked in many parts of Indonesia. This has led to the frequent discovery of abandoned archaeological resources. However, if cultural resources are well managed, they can bring many benefits. Bukit Samak, located in the subdistrict of Manggar, East Belitung Regency is one of the areas that convey that potential. Bukit Samak provides proof of the role of Belitung Island in the cultural materialized past. The region is known as a settlement of European workers who became staff at Billiton Maatschappij. Unfortunately, this region is not yet well known to the research community because Bukit Samak has not yet officially determined cultural heritage at the province or national level. The first step to list Bukit Samak as a Cultural Heritage National Site, according to UUCB 11 of 2010, is to obtain an identification score from the site. This paper strives to answer questions related to what archeological resources are in Bukit Samak, and how those resources are of significant value. Results obtained show that the Bukit Samak area has potential for heritage value and that it needs heritage listing soon before mismanagement damages its archaeological resources.
