Improving Financial Inclusion Through Blockchain-Based Smart Contracts in Ghana’s Rural Microcredit Institutions
摘要
Blockchain technology has transformative potential beyond cryptocurrencies, offering solutions to inefficiencies and trust-related issues in various industries. This research examines how blockchain-based smart contracts can be integrated into Ghana’s microcredit sector. By utilizing Solidity, Truffle, and the Ethereum blockchain, the study proposes a framework aimed at enhancing transparency, automating processes, and reducing transaction costs. Using a combination of questionnaires and an implementation-based methodology, the research evaluates the feasibility and impact of blockchain adoption. The findings indicate that blockchain can improve financial credibility for lenders, streamline contract automation, and lower funding costs. However, challenges such as coordination difficulties, strategic considerations, and privacy concerns still pose barriers to widespread adoption.
