Implementation of Nanobubble Technology for Treatment of Wastewater

This project focuses on designing an efficient diffuser for the generation and distribution of nanobubbles in wastewater treatment processes. Nanobubbles exhibit unique properties such as high gas solubility and prolonged retention in liquids, making them promising for various applications, including pollutant removal in wastewater treatment. The proposed diffuser design aims to optimize nanobubble production and dispersion, enhancing their interaction with contaminants in wastewater. Through computational simulations and experimental validation, the diffuser’s performance will be assessed in terms of nanobubble generation efficiency, distribution uniformity, and overall treatment efficacy. The outcome of this research will contribute to advancing nanobubble-based wastewater treatment technologies, offering a sustainable and cost-effective solution for pollutant removal and water remediation. Since nanobubbles (NBs) were discovered in 1994, they have garnered increasing interest due to their intriguing properties and have been examined for use in various environmental sectors, including the treatment of water and wastewater. However, despite significant research efforts focused on the fundamental characteristics of NBs—particularly over the last 5 years—conflicts and disagreements in the existing literature have impeded their practical application.
