Flexible Healthcare and Effective Pandemic Management Using Additive Manufacturing and IoT
摘要
The integration of additive manufacturing (AM) and the Internet of Things (IoT) has transformed healthcare, offering flexible, rapid, and scalable solutions that are particularly critical during pandemics. This chapter explores how these technologies enhance healthcare infrastructure, providing the ability to swiftly produce medical equipment, personal protective gear, and custom prosthetics through 3D printing (3DP). Concurrently, IoT enables real-time monitoring, data acquisition, and remote healthcare services, improving patient outcomes and optimizing resource allocation. Together, AM and IoT facilitate agile responses to healthcare crises, reducing supply chain dependencies and enabling more efficient pandemic management through enhanced automation, communication, and personalized care solutions. This approach not only strengthens the resilience of healthcare systems but also provides a blueprint for future innovations in global health management.
