Estimating Urban Healthcare Accessibility in Madrid (Spain) via Traffic-Based GIS Scenarios
摘要
This study explores physical accessibility to healthcare facilities in Madrid, the largest city in Spain. Using Geographic Information Systems, we create a spatial network where nodes represent hospitals and population centers, and links reflect the road network. We simulate different congestion levels and estimate travel times. The results show the challenges of finding optimal locations for healthcare facilities, highlighting the need to account for population distribution and the structure of the urban network. Lastly, we provide key recommendations to improve healthcare accessibility in urban areas.
