Evaluating Child-Friendly Travel: A Case Study of the 15-Min Living Circle in a Shanghai Community
摘要
In order to effectively guarantee children’s right to equality and respect in the city, the concept of child-friendliness is integrated into the planning and construction of community neighborhoods to meet the needs of children in their daily activities in China. This paper takes the community of Shanghai as the study area and constructs a child-friendly 15-min community living circle of stay space evaluation system with three dimensions of safety, comfort, and fun through questionnaire surveys and on-the-spot inspections, which is used for machine learning, and finally evaluated and visualized using ArcGIS. The research has found that children's satisfaction with stay spaces for traveling is influenced by safety, comfort, and fun. Comfort levels are close and good across streets in the case communities. However, the overall levels of safety and fun are not satisfactory, and there are significant disparities between different streets. Some measures are advised to be taken to meet the needs of children’s traveling space and to improve the child-friendly living circle.
