The Internet has remained a site for the expression of thoughts, ideas and ultimately that operates through a wide network of web connections. The emergence of the Internet has changed the way communication systems work across the areas of communication. Therefore, we could see everything is turning to be digital and is unfolding through cyberspace. This boom of the Internet has facilitated overseas communities to come closer to a single platform from the different geographical locations, to discuss their happenings. The Indian diaspora is one of them that uses Facebook excessively to remain connected with their fellow citizens in the host as well as their home country. So, they form a network to facilitate that help to the new migrants throughout their settling process. In addition, Facebook is used as the tool of integration by communities for raising the awareness of disparity, challenges faced by most of the people in the host society. It also helps the diaspora to share their cultural belongingness, through various online deliberations of several associations and organizations via Facebook pages. Moreover, there are various public and closed Facebook groups and pages that share such contents. These groups are also working to present themselves as part of the ethnic media and represent the voice of the diaspora. Thus, this chapter aims to draw attention to the South Asian diaspora groups especially the Indian diaspora in cyberspace that uses Facebook as the assisting tool to mediate the new migrant and to retain the old diaspora linkages from host to home. In its analysis of over 50 Indian diaspora groups, this chapter has looked at their existence and objectives through Facebook pages’ contents. This chapter offers a constructive site of suggestions around human communicative developments. Through the claims it made on the significance of media communications for facilitating voices of information, this chapter suggests forming and adopts such media policies as the tool of communications widely by the respective communities and organizations.
