National economic operation is a process in which total social supply and demand strive for dynamic balance within the context of economic growth. From the perspective of total social demand, economic growth, as measured by GDP, is driven by three primary forces—the so-called troika of economic growth: investment, consumption, and net exports. This chapter examines the impact of these three demand components on national economic operation and explores the state management of national economic demand.
