Virtual Machine Migration Algorithm for Energy Consumption Optimization

With the advancement of cloud computing technology, virtual machine migration has become a critical component in data center resource management and optimization. However, effectively reducing energy consumption during the virtual machine migration process remains a pressing challenge. This paper proposes an energy-optimized virtual machine migration algorithm aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of data centers. The algorithm introduces a host load status determination strategy based on three thresholds, a virtual machine selection strategy based on Pearson correlation coefficient, and a virtual machine placement strategy that considers the multidimensional resource balance of physical hosts post-migration. Simulation experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm in reducing energy consumption.
