This chapter examines how the ‘optics’ of glocalised (Robertson, 1995) crises impact on MSM depictions of NSW policing and how police are influenced by politicians—arising in selective enforcement which presents moral hazards for police. In the light of big data, ‘the optics’ has an enlarged and sustained lasting interest, not just on SM but through loss of privacy, voyeurism and ongoing recreation of content. Glocalisation is driving MSM to the extent that overseas crises are escalated immediately and problematised by SM into “local threats”, in this case threats towards Australian Jews. The “writing on the wall” has transliterated into “the writing on the platform”.
