This paper presents a new discretization model of Van der Pol oscillator dynamics. The Van der Pol oscillator is a canonical model in the domain of nonlinear dynamical systems. Its representation in discrete time is helpful for further studies from the perspective of discrete domain analysis. Taylor-Lie discretization technique has been used as it provides a relatively simple mathematical formulation for obtaining a discrete model of the given continuous-time system. The obtained Taylor-Lie discretized model has been compared with the discrete model obtained by the Euler discretization method. A detailed comparative analysis has been presented based on the simulation results.
